Richard “Ducky” Hubbard is a Perth-based location sound recordist with 15+ years of experience working across film, television, documentary and commercial production.

Known to most of the industry simply as Ducky, Richard has built a reputation for delivering reliable, high-quality location sound while remaining calm, adaptable and easy to work with on set. His experience spans a wide range of productions and environments, from conventional film sets to remote locations and challenging outdoor shoots.

Richard’s approach is practical and production-focused. He understands that great sound is only one part of the process, anticipating problems, working well with the crew, and finding solutions when things don’t go to plan are important skills to master.

His work has taken him across Australia and internationally, including productions for major broadcasters and production companies. Alongside location sound, Richard is also a CASA-certified drone operator, giving productions the option of combining specialist sound and aerial capabilities.

Whether working on a large production or as part of a small crew, Ducky brings experience, technical knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for getting the job done properly, and safely in the can.
