Most WA factual work isn’t shot in a studio
It’s shot inside an aircraft with the engine running, on a boat, on a mine site, or two hours down a track in the Pilbara with no mains power and forty degrees of heat. Those are the conditions that decide whether a recording is usable, and they’re the conditions the kit is chosen and maintained for: every battery under 100Wh so the whole package flies as carry-on, and enough redundancy that a dead transmitter doesn’t stop the shoot.
The reason producers mention being calm isn’t temperament. It’s having been in the situation before, and knowing which of the three available fixes is the one that won’t cost the schedule.
